Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Programs
PHS’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health programs are dedicated to strengthening the relationships between children, their parents/caregivers, and educators. We offer educational, culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences to help our clients effectively address the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of children. Our approach involves: providing workshops, resources, and consultations to parents/caregivers and educators, and offering direct consultation to early education centers and providers through assessments, resources, activities, and other integrative services.
Parents/ Caregivers
PHS focuses on providing workshops, resources, and educational consultations to parents and caregivers of children in early childhood. These offerings are designed to strengthen relationships and help effectively address the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of children. We cover topics such as understanding children’s emotional and behavioral development, positive discipline strategies, stress management, and fostering secure attachments. These sessions are offered in different languages and offer practical advice as well as attempt to foster a sense of community among families.
In terms of additional resources PHS offers worksheets with tips and information, evidenced based activities that can be practiced at home, referrals to community mental health services, and a virtual therapy room that families can engage with, with their children. Our virtual play-therapy room, “Little Perspectives Playroom” offers accessible online activities to enjoy with your child with topics that are regularly interchanged to foster social and emotional growth in your child. Early Childhood Educators/ Education Centers
PHS provides workshops, resources, and consultations to educators/ early education centers, equipping them with educational, culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences to support the social, emotional, and behavioral health of children in their care. We offer paid workshops, free workshops, and self-paced courses designed to teach evidence-based early childhood mental health models. Our goal is to adapt different cultural perspectives and include practical materials that educators can use daily in the classroom. Additionally, we provide consultation to educators seeking specific information regarding challenges, systemic barriers, or those who wish to stay abreast of current evidence-based practices.
